Phase I
As we all know our country is now and forever
changing,
to provide for the defense and security of its people. We the
greatest nation on earth and that is because of the commitment and
sacrifices that has been made and will be made by those of our Armed Forces.
As those that benefit from these peacekeepers, we can now be part
of an effort to show our pride and support for their efforts and work.
A member of Denton Chapter #259 started this effort last year to
host and support a unit that was stationed in Afghanistan. For the 6
months
that this unit was deployed, the
Chapter sent
numerous care packages and letters of support.
Now this unit is being
deployed again and the Denton Chapter is gearing up to doing
it again. This time the unit asked if there were other
Chapters that would be
interested in adopting a unit as Denton
has. Thus,
Operation
Eastern
Star
was created to match
Chapters with our Armed
Forces Units. Frequent updates of the operation will be posted
to the website.
Phase II
It has become harder for us to
deliver care packages direct to the troops
because of security and safety
issues, so we
will continue to support our
service men
and women in the following manner.
1. Those units that are still accepting
packages from individual Chapters will
continue to support those units.
2. For those Chapters or individuals that want to
continue or participate in this operation we have made
contact with several
military units in the Texas area and
will send our packages through them.

Gary and LeJean are the owners of this website and one of the creators of Operation Eastern Star. We are honored to do this out of the love of our country and what these young men and women mean to us. I'm retired Air Force after 21 years service and know first hand what it's like to be away from home, in a combat role and getting care and love packages from home. Godspeed and Blessings to those that serve this great country of ours.
